I fished on opening day on Lower Bintry – Deep Chub Bend down to the lower beat marker. I had three trout and saw others. Also out were Terry and Ian MacKenzie. They elected to fish upper Bintry. According to their returns, fish were seen but not caught. Although I did not see him, Tim Weston was fishing Yarrow where he had 4 trout and a chub. He saw others, some quite big and occasional fish rising.

The interesting thing is that Tim considered all his fish to be stocked. Two of my three were stocked. We seem to have retained a fair number of last season’s “supplementaries”.

Just a suggestion for Friday’s stocking at Yarrow is to unlock the gate on the slipway and use it to release the fish that are going in at the bridge? I have spoken with Fergus and he will be bringing the trout transporters.
